Road-STEAMer theoretical framework
Developing a comprehensive theoretical framework for STEAM
About this assembly
The Road-STEAMer consortium is developing a comprehensive conceptual framework for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), aiming to cover all its aspects and promised positive impacts, i.e.: the use of artistic approaches to STEM involving creative thinking and applied arts (the “A” in STEAM); moving beyond “just hard science”, by encompassing the world of technology and everyday life aspects which are not always obviously related to science for the student; and reasons why STEAM can prove particularly useful in the analysed socioeconomic context in order to address the identified needs. The work on the conceptual framework will culminate into a dedicated co-creation workshop. This interactive session will aim at co-creating the theoretical and conceptual framework for STEAM education in Europe. Participation is open to everyone and is particularly addressed to academics and practitioners in the field. Using interactive participatory tools participants inputs will be gathered, and will then feed into Road-STEAmer’s work.
Objectives
The main objective of this assembly is to gather inputs from participants - mainly academics and practitioners - on theoretical frameworks for STEAM, helping advance and enhance the work carried out by the project team in the spirit of co-creation. Thus, the co-creation workshop is an integral part of this core work with participants with different roles offering diverse insights enabling more holistic views of the theoretical ecosystem.
Participants are invited to comment on this within the conceptual framework Blog.
