Mapping of STEAM practices
The landscape of STEAM practices
Background
Building on the work of the RoadSTEAMer consortium, this map showcases the landscape of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) practices across Europe. The consortium developed this analysis on the outcomes of bibliographic studies, which respectively led to the definition of 7 criteria to analyse these practices and various areas of socioeconomic needs or challenges they can address, and recommendations to do so.
This mapping was conducted through two complementary approaches:
- Desk research to build on existing data and knowledge;
- A survey disseminated among STEAM practitioners to collect data on ongoing practices.
Both approaches have benefited from collaborative work from all partners involved in order to obtain a really wide view on the current STEAM landscape. The data has been treated focusing on STEAM criteria outlined in the Research Framework), with a focus on addressing socioeconomic needs.
